A Opossum

Baby Opossums

Baby possums are born very small and nurse in their mothers pouch for about two months. When they reach three to four inches in length they will start riding around on the mothers back, At approximately seven inches (not including tail) they are old enough to be on their own. If they are injured, sick or under seven inches use gloves or a towel to secure them in a box (make sure there is sufficient airflow), provide warmth with either a heating pad, water bottle or rice sock warmed up and place in a quiet, dark area. Do not feed them anything. The internet is full of incorrect information and diets for possums. Contact us as soon as possible.
